Pentalver Transport Limited is pleased to announce the official opening of its expanded container facility at Berth 7, DP World London Gateway, the globally connected deep-sea port and Logistics Park on the River Thames.

Pentalver, a subsidiary of Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W), commenced work on Phase 2 of the site development work in August 2017, following the opening of the first phase of the facility in 2013. The expanded site adds 40% additional capacity to the Pentalver operation which includes loaded and empty container storage, reefer and dry container maintenance and repair, transport and cargo handling.

“We are delighted that Pentalver has opened its expanded container yard at DP World London Gateway.”

DP World’s UK Chief Executive Officer Chris Lewis

“Phase two of the development has added additional capacity to the vital operations and services that Pentalver offers to our port users and customers. It highlights the commitment it has made and the commercial success achieved since opening the first phase of operations in November 2013. “We are proud of the excellent relationship that DP World has with Pentalver, both at London Gateway and at Southampton,” Lewis continued. “This is an important relationship in our mission to become the leading enabler of trade for the UK with the rest of the world.”

The enhanced Pentalver facility, together with increased rail freight services operated through sister company Freightliner, supports the continued growth at DP World London Gateway, one of the fastest growing ports in the world. “I am delighted to see this key expansion project at London Gateway come to fruition,” said G&W UK/Europe Region Managing Director, Terminal Services, Chris Lawrenson.

“This investment was one of the first made by G&W following the Pentalver acquisition in May last year, highlighting their commitment to growth in the UK container sector and ensuring that we continue to provide a competitive, first-class service to customers.”
